Through my work with the Centaurus Ice Skating Club, I have been asked to help design everything that goes into nationals. This includes the logo, pictured on the left, any social media posts leading up to the event, merchandise for the skaters to purchase before and during the event, posters and billboard advertisements, the programme that each of the competitors will be given upon arriving at the event, and updating the Centaurus club website so it has all the information skaters, parents, and officials will need while in Christchurch.

All images that I have used I have either taken or created myself and have permission to post onto my personal website. or I have saught permission from the club president to use in my portfolio

About the Logo

Every year a new logo for the competition is created, every year people have different opinions about the logo and about what they do and do not like about it.

With my logo I used artist models of old style logos, round ones you would find on drinks or on a stamp. The idea was for it to be simple enough that everyone will be able to reconginse it and also attractive enough people will want to buy the merchendise.

While a circle elment is common with the nationals logos, noramlly there is more imagry in the centre. However, with my deisgn i wanted to make New Zealand the focal point, making it the biggest and most attractive element of the logo. I used inspiration of traditional New Zealand Shapes and I used the look of a skate blade as well.
